The Monarch School is dedicated to providing an innovative, therapeutic education for individuals with neurological differences. We provide a highly individualized program to meet the child’s emotional, social, and academic needs.

ABOUT MONARCH

The Monarch school has a unique levels system based on four core goals, including ownership of self-regulation and self-awareness, executive functions, relationship development, and academic competence.

Courses are offered in math, science, language arts, social studies, physical education, and fine arts, as well as executive functioning and specific support to advance the learning competence of students at most levels of cognition and academic achievement. In addition, many students are involved in a school-based business at our Life Academy.

In all programs, the opportunities for practice are largely in the area of ownership of each of the Four Core Goals. At the Chrysalis Program, particular attention is directed to the students’ ability to orient to their Professional Educators, engage affectively with the adults encountered during the day, regulate in response to sensory stimuli, and successfully transact simple, two-way communication activities.

As students mature developmentally, we begin offering opportunities that are more complex, increasing the number of people the students interact with during the day and testing their ability to co-regulate in larger groupings, in both academic and social settings. As progress is made, the complexity of their interactions is increased so that they progress from one-on-one interaction with a Professional Educator to one-on-one with another student, and then interacting with more than one student at a time.

At Monarch we have a multidisciplinary team that may be composed of several different types of professionals with a variety of experiences.  You may work with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Licensed Ph.D, Provisionally licensed Ph.D, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),  Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP), or Occupational Therapist (OT). We are all Behaviorists and we approach situations from a relational context

Monarch School has a rolling admissions policy whereby students may be enrolled throughout the year.
